Hashimukh often engages in occasional projects that aim to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. These projects can vary widely, from distributing winter clothes to help vulnerable individuals stay warm during the cold months to providing food and new clothing to families in celebration of Eid. These initiatives reflect the organization’s commitment to fostering community well-being, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring that marginalized individuals and families can participate in the joy and warmth of such occasions.
Since 2014, Hashimukh has been conducting a periodical project called “আমরাও ঈদ করবো অন্য সবার মতো” (We will celebrate Eid like others) and providing food assistance to underprivileged families in the month of Ramadan ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Hashimukh has been providing iftar, an Eid food package, and a new set of dresses to their students since 2014, after the birth of Hashimukh. From that year, under the project “আমরাও ঈদ করবো অন্য সবার মত”(We will celebrate Eid like others), they have been always distributed iftar for the 25 days of Ramadan, a new set of Eid dresses, and, Eid dry food package for the Eid day among their students to respect our religious values, celebrate the essence of togetherness, and shared goals. Hashimukh does this so that their underprivileged students don’t feel discriminated against and can celebrate Eid with their families like privileged people. They run this project not only based on our religious values but also on cultural aspects. These initiatives make them more convinced to come back to school and be active in their studies. This creates a kind of gratitude among the parents of our students, which inspires them to send their children to school regularly. This occasional project “আমরাও ঈদ করবো অন্য সবার মত” impacts a lot to achieving our overall strategic goal.
Hashimukh distributed iftar food packages containing Chickpeas, Besan, Sugar, Oil, and Muri to the students. In 2023 to ensure the health and well-being of its students, Hashimukh opted to distribute dry food items for Iftar rather than provide outside food. By providing Iftar dry food items, HSKS is ensuring that their students are well-fed and nourished, which can lead to better cognitive and academic performance in the classroom. The program may have also reduced absenteeism, as students were more likely to attend school knowing that they would have access to food to break their fast.
HSKS’s initiative to provide new Eid attire to their students has been an excellent way to ensure they can celebrate the occasion with dignity and joy. From 2014 to 2023, Hashimukh provided a set of new Eid dresses to an average of 35o students. By offering new clothing, HSKS has boosted its students’ self-esteem and confidence, which can positively impact their academic performance. This initiative highlights HSKS’s commitment to the holistic development of their students and creating a conducive environment for them to thrive.
Distribution of Eid Dry Food Packages: HSKS demonstrated its commitment to promoting the welfare of its students by distributing Eid dry food packages. Since 2014, Hashimukh also distributed Eid dry food packages to their students so that they could celebrate Eid with a proper meal. The initiative not only aimed to provide temporary relief for students during the Eid holiday but also addressed the issue of hunger, which can impede learning and academic performance. In 2023, during the month of holy Ramadan, HSKS also distributed Eid dry food packages among 60 orphan students who are studying in madrasas with their regular students.
This winter, Hashimukh Somaj Kallan Songstha once again brought warmth and joy to the lives of 200+ deserving students through our “Winter Clothing Distribution 2023” project under our Occasional Program. Led by our dedicated co-founder and president, Nusrat Akhtar, and supported by our passionate volunteers, we have been carrying out this commendable initiative for the past 10 years. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the well-wishers who have supported and continue to support us in making this impactful endeavor possible. Together, we are making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.
