Banshkhali, Chattogram — 2026: Hashimukh Somaj Kallayan Songstha (HSKS) organized a Free Health Camp and Emergency Relief Initiative in the flood-affected community of Pashchim Ilsha, Banshkhali, Chattogram, providing essential healthcare, emergency food assistance, hygiene supplies, and health awareness support to more than 700 people.
The initiative was undertaken as part of Hashimukh’s emergency response to support families facing the immediate health and humanitarian challenges that followed the flooding.
The health camp provided free medical consultations, essential medicines, and healthcare advice to affected community members. With access to healthcare often becoming more difficult following a disaster due to disrupted transportation, damaged infrastructure, and loss of livelihoods, the initiative aimed to bring essential medical support directly to the affected community.
Alongside the health services, Hashimukh distributed emergency food assistance and essential hygiene supplies to vulnerable families. The response also included health and hygiene awareness activities focused on preventing illness and reducing the risk of waterborne and communicable diseases in the post-flood environment.

The initiative was made possible through the generous support of Zonta International, Savlon Bangladesh, and ACI, who contributed to preventive healthcare, essential medicines, hygiene support, and emergency food assistance for the affected community.
Hashimukh also extends its sincere appreciation to the Dhaka University Students’ Association of Banshkhali (DUSAB) for providing dedicated volunteer support throughout the initiative and contributing to the successful implementation of the programme on the ground.
The response reflects Hashimukh’s commitment to ensuring that disaster-affected communities receive support beyond immediate relief. By combining healthcare, emergency assistance, hygiene support, and community awareness, the organization seeks to contribute to a safer and more resilient recovery process.
“Flood recovery does not end when the water recedes. Families continue to face health risks, food insecurity, and uncertainty long after the immediate crisis. Through collective action and community partnership, we want to ensure that affected families are not left behind in the recovery process,” said Hashimukh Somaj Kallayan Songstha.
With the support of its partners, volunteers, medical professionals, and community members, Hashimukh remains committed to responding to humanitarian emergencies and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable communities across Bangladesh.
