At Hashimukh Somaj Kallayan Songstha (HSKS), every Thursday is more than just another day of the week; it is a day dedicated to sharing hope, compassion, and dignity through our regular “One Plate, One Smile” initiative.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, HSKS organizes this weekly program to provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals to underprivileged children, elderly individuals, low-income families, and people experiencing food insecurity. Through the collective efforts of our volunteers, donors, and community supporters, every meal served reflects our belief that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right.
Beyond addressing immediate hunger, One Plate, One Smile creates a welcoming space where people are treated with respect, care, and dignity. The initiative strengthens community solidarity while encouraging individuals and organizations to become active partners in reducing hunger and promoting social wellbeing. This program complements HSKS’s broader mission of improving the lives of marginalized communities through education, nutrition, healthcare, skills development, and community empowerment. For many children, a healthy meal contributes not only to their physical wellbeing but also to improved school attendance, concentration, and learning outcomes.
Implemented every week, One Plate, One Smile has become a regular expression of HSKS’s people-centered approach to development, demonstrating that sustainable change begins with consistent acts of compassion and collective responsibility.
This initiative contributes directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Every Thursday. One Plate. One Smile. Countless Lives Touched.
