Tahamina Akter is a fearless warrior in the battle of life much like a real-life Sangshaptak (the indomitable). Her story is not just a tale of one girl’s life; it is a symbol of courage, dreams, and relentless struggle.

Born in 2002 in a poor family in Chunarughat, Habiganj, Tahamina’s father was a small village shopkeeper. The family survived on his modest earnings. But in 2010, when Tahamina was just eight years old, tragedy struck, she lost her father. With little to no means left for survival, her mother made the difficult decision to move to Dhaka in search of a livelihood. Thus began a new struggle for survival.

In Dhaka, Tahamina’s mother started working as a domestic helper. Though she could provide food for her daughter, affording her education was an impossible burden. At this critical juncture, Tahamina and her mother came across Hashimukh. Tahamina was then a 10-year-old girl, already determined to help her mother in any way she could. Her mindset and resilience at such a young age deeply inspired us. We saw in her a doorway to immense possibilities. Without delay, Hashimukh committed to standing by her.

In 2013, when Tahamina was just 11, her journey with Hashimukh began. Since then, she has never looked back. With our support, Tahamina excelled in her education, performing well in her SSC and HSC exams. Eventually, she was admitted to the Habiganj Nursing and Midwifery College, moving one step closer to her dreams. But just when she was embracing a new beginning, life took a dark turn. Tahamina was diagnosed with a tumor in her spine, and she lost her ability to walk normally. Her body was weakened, but her spirit remained unbroken. Alone, she continued to fight and Hashimukh stood by her side. From medical treatment, surgeries, to ongoing medication Hashimukh bore all the costs and helped bring her back to life.

Tahamina learned to walk again and began to dream of a new life. We enrolled her in a Digital Marketing course at CRP Manikganj, and provided her with a laptop so she could continue learning and working from home. Today, Tahamina is a successful working woman, employed as a Junior Receptionist at CRP Bangladesh. Her success brings us immense joy.

A girl once considered a burden by many is now the pillar of her family. Tahamina is not just a name; she is an inspiration. Her story proves that with courage and support, no dream is impossible. Hashimukh has always stood beside underprivileged children and continues to do so. There are many more hidden talents like Tahamina, whose lives can be transformed with just a little help from people like you and me.
