On 20 May 2025, Hashimukh, in collaboration with IID, hosted a powerful session on Gender Equality and Safe Spaces for Girls as part of the Inclusive Capacity Building Programme.
We were honoured to welcome Esrat Karim Eve, Founder and Director of AMAL Foundation, as our guest speaker and co-facilitator, alongside Nusrat Akter, President and co-founder of Hashimukh. Together, they guided engaging conversations on equity, inclusion, and the essential role of women’s leadership in shaping a safer, more just society.
This interactive session united nearly 150 mothers, adolescent girls, and community members, creating a safe space for open dialogue. Mothers wrote down their concerns, both positive and negative, about the challenges girls face and actively participated in solution-oriented discussions.
Participants explored real-life issues such as early marriage, school dropout, and harassment. Through role-play activities, storytelling, and a community commitment wall, the session empowered families to take collective responsibility and inspired lasting change.
