Hashimukh Somaj Kallayan Songstha Marks a Decade of Service with Innovative Celebrations

Hashimukh Somaj Kallayan Songstha (HSKS) commemorated its significant milestone of ten years of service on May 10th, 2024. Founded in 2014, HSKS has remained persistent in its dedication to uplifting underprivileged communities through a comprehensive array of core programs encompassing education, nutrition, healthcare, IT training, and artisanal skills development.

Central to its mission is a profound commitment to education, with a current enrollment of over 400 children benefiting from Hashimukh’s educational initiatives. Remarkably, 400 students have successfully completed secondary education under the organization’s tutelage, with an additional 1600 having completed primary education. This widespread impact underscores Hashimukh’s substantial reach, positively influencing nearly 100,000 individuals to date.

The commemoration of its tenth anniversary was not merely a moment of reflection but a staple for innovative action. President Nusrat Akter took the helm in addressing the urgent global issue of climate change by campaigning for the plantation of over 1000 trees nationwide. This ambitious initiative commenced with the anniversary event, symbolizing Hashimukh’s firm commitment to nurturing a symbiotic relationship between humanity and the environment.

The anniversary festivities commence  at 4:00 PM with an opening speech, followed by a presentation of the national anthem, symbolizing tribute to national identity. A highlight of the event was the distinguished speech delivered by Nayoka Martinez, First Secretary of the Sweden Embassy. Martinez’s esteemed presence was met with jubilation, and she was graciously honored with flowers by Nusrat Akter on stage.

In a gesture of cultural exchange, Hashimukh presented lanterns and clay mirrors to its esteemed guests, exemplary of Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage. Dignitaries including Md. Abdul Kaiyum, Kizzi Tahnin, Najiyat Shahrin, Sudeb Kumar, and Sushanto Kumar Shaha were invited to contribute to the symbolic distribution of 25 trees among the students, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

The occasion was marked with the presence of distinguished guests who graced us with their esteemed presence for a ceremonial cake cutting. Our students celebrated the mouthwatering offerings, indulging in the splendid delight cream buns and the rich flavor of Aarong Choco-milk, perfectly complementing the celebratory atmosphere.

The dedication of educators and team members was duly acknowledged, with certificates of appreciation bestowed upon them by esteemed guests. Additionally, students Maria and Nishita showcased their artistic competence through the presentation of over 25 canvas paintings, which gathered warm accolades from attendees.

The cultural segment of the event featured performances aimed at promoting both environmental conservation and Bengali traditions. As the festivities drew to a close, Nusrat Akter led a procession to the BCSIR premises for a symbolic tree-planting ceremony. Martinez and Akter inaugurated the first tree planting, gesturing a collaborative effort towards +environmental sustainability.

In summation, the tenth-anniversary celebration of Hashimukh Somaj Kallayan Songstha accentuated its profound impact over the past decade and reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to community service and sustainable development.
